Karyotype Analysis of Korean Native Cymbidiums

Abstract

|
|
The study was conducted to obtain the basic information on genetic variation through the karyotype analysis of chromosomes in Cymbidium goeringii which was colleted from 12 locations in Chunlado and Kyungsangdo regions. Number of chromosomes were 2n=40, which were consist of 13 pairs of metacentrics, 6 pairs of submetacentrics and a pair of subtelocentrics, Only one chromosome of the subtelocentrics carried a satellite on the short arm. Length of chromosomes was ranged 2.67㎛ to 7.65㎛. No chromosomal variation was observed, based on general karyotype of chromosomes.
